Instrument: 1-key (English) D flute, boxwood, ivory rings, silver key

Maker: unmarked

Pitch: A=440

Embouchure size:

Notes: This flute probably dates from the 2nd half of the 18th-Century. Boxwood with ivory rings and silver key. It is generally in quite good condition with one small repaired crack. There is a little damage to the side of the embouchure hole as well as the first finger hole but neither seems to effect the playing of the flute. Pitch of this flute is right at A=440 (which is a bit strange - but useful). I suspect it might have originally had multiple corps de rechange and the only one left is this - the smallest. Take a listen - a real baroque sound at A=440!
